If you are looking for something different from the norm, something beautiful yet unexpected and something that is also environmentally friendly, then you really need to check out the exquisite, conceptual lighting range from Graypants.
Graypants are more than just a design house, they are a creative think tank. With bases in Seattle and Amsterdam, the team at Graypants use handmade materials, many of which are recycled to create their products. Their first project was to make an armchair out of sheets of recycled cardboard boxes. After huge success, the design team used the same techniques to create lamp shades – the result is truly stunning. With beautiful corrugated edges and layer after layer of cardboard, the lighting level is perfect – both illuminating and adding character to a room.
Founded in 2008 by Jonathan Junker and Seth Grizzle, two architecture students who wanted to pursue a career in the field and since then the brand have conquered the world with their unique, recycled products and environmentally friendly brand values. Another important value of the brand is serving a social responsibility of enabling disadvantaged and disable individuals to develop the skills to make the products as well as learn about the importance of being an environmentally friendly brand. The ethical production is just as important to them as the designs itself. Despite a fairly new brand, Graypants has experienced huge success and growth and continue to progress in both the US and European market.
Here at Naken we are extremely excited to see what else this edgy interior design brand have up their sleeves. In the meantime why not take a look at their striking lighting range featured below.
